Studio
Founded in 2011, Fabrikate began with a simple, honest mission: to design spaces that genuinely resonate. Now a dedicated team of four, we remain aligned in challenging predictability through story-driven design.
Located in Adelaide’s east end, our studio is housed within a heritage building, steeped in its own rich history. A space of character that allows us to layer elements of our own story and process, reinforcing our belief that narrative – and people – matter. It’s where ideation becomes our craft, and where every detail is considered with care.
Fabrikate is an interior design studio crafting homes that reflect your story.

Working with us
Genuine Collaboration
We work closely with our clients and makers. By taking the time to get to know our collaborators in great detail, and how they work, we focus on crafting highly personalised outcomes that can only be achieved through a validated alliance and connection of values.
Authentic Modesty
Our down-to-earth approach ensures every client feels comfortable, safe and nurtured throughout the entire process. We bring a steadied modesty, that is both measured and empathetic by nature, always acting with integrity and honesty.
Full of Feeling
Every space we create is deeply emotive and defined by a strong and meaningful narrative. Our designs are warm, tactile, layered and lively. Crafting spaces where soul can be felt is at the heart of our purpose.
Our team
Kate is the founder and Creative Director of Fabrikate – a practice testament to Kate’s own 20 years of industry experience.
Her deep love of all things handmade was shaped by a family of creative women who celebrated care and craft in every detail of life. Childhood memories of her Nonna marking fabric with chalk, the soft snip of scissors, and the hum of a sewing machine still fill the corners of her mind. Through making, Kate learned patience — and with it, a lasting respect for the tactile, the imperfect, and the human touch.
Kate sees the world with empathy and curiosity, and a keen appreciation for the slightest of details — qualities that naturally muse her design practice. A curator of form and feeling, she draws inspiration from her clients’ own stories and a lifelong fascination with cultural diversity, creating spaces that are unexpected, layered, and timeless. Guided by nature and craftsmanship, her work balances strength with sensitivity.
As a leader, Kate brings clarity and conviction, guiding her team and clients with assurance, care, and courage. Driven by an ongoing desire to continually evolve and grow, she approaches every project as an opportunity for innovation — elevating both her practice and her clients’ experiences. Through Fabrikate, she continues to refine a vision woven from understanding and curiosity, adding to a legacy that reflects an enduring love of both design and people.

ELISE — Interior Designer
From a young age, Elise was immersed in a world of constant creativity — growing up in a home shaped by her parents’ ongoing renovations, projects, and ever-evolving spaces. These early experiences shaped her understanding of how design can transform both the energy and emotion within a space.
Driven by inquisitiveness and a willingness to follow where creativity leads, Elise’s path through interior architecture has been anything but linear. From immersive ventures in set design and fashion to retail fit outs across Australia and Los Angeles, her journey reflects a unique tapestry of experience, influence and experimentation.
Travel – and the subsequent exposure – to such an array of vibrant places and varied communities have also deepened her appreciation for the diverse intricacies of the world. Her creative lens and the way she views potential opportunities has been shaped and expanded as a result, ensuring she has many rich experiences to draw from as part of her design practice.
Eventually, the universe guided Elise to Fabrikate — a humble studio where she found a community of thoughtful, like-minded collaborators. Rich textures, bold yet refined details, and emotive design are at the heart of her work, creating spaces that feel calm, connected, and intentional.

ISSY — Interior Designer
Growing up on the Yorke Peninsula, Issy’s upbringing in a small coastal town instilled a grounded, intuitive way of seeing the world — one that would later define her approach to design and underpin her practice.
After studying Interior Architecture, she soon realised she sought more than structure for her next chapter, and instead was drawn to lived experience. This led her to travel both overseas and throughout Australia, immersing herself in places where architecture and culture are interwoven, observing how people and rituals shape community and connection.
Her design process is intuitive, guided by empathy, experimentation, and connection. Issy embraces natural materials, earthy textiles, vintage treasures, and is drawn to authentic, lived-in spaces that have been marked by time, as well as environments that mirror many of the landscapes of her childhood.
Aligning with Fabrikate came naturally. From early on, Issy resonated with the studio’s core values and approach. She brings a sensitivity and openness, together with a passion for collaboration. Whether working closely with the team, clients or local makers, she sees each project as an opportunity to build a relationship of shared understanding and an aligned vision.
At the heart of Issy’s practice is a belief that good design is felt — a reflection of story, people, and place, thoughtfully woven together.
