Made GroundedPoint House is a retreat designed for an Adelaide family seeking a lasting connection to the south coast. Needing to expand and contract with adult children visiting, the home was conceived to balance privacy and flexibility, facilitating autonomous living across two levels. The upper floor is its own sanctuary, while with shared spaces throughout that encourage a slowing of pace and togetherness.
The palette – anchored in soft neutrals – draws directly from the coastal landscape. The silver travertine bedhead in the master suite subtly references the sandy cliffs below, while natural larch floorboards bring warmth and movement reminiscent of the nearby dunes.
Durability was essential to withstand the seaside climate. Natural stone, porcelain, and weather-resistant furnishings ensure longevity without compromising comfort. Custom lighting and hand-finished details add softness and scale, enriching the home’s calm, considered atmosphere.
